From its earliest beginnings in 1936, Kunau Implement has been a family-owned business with a strong commitment to meeting the needs of their customers. 1930’s: The Kunau brothers, Robert and Milo, marketed International Harvester trucks and machinery in the years following the Great Depression. 1940’s: Robert and his wife, Margaret, built a new facility in Preston, Iowa to greater meet the needs of their rural customers. 1950’s: The post war boom encouraged family farms to grow. Kunau Implement's staff doubled to accommodate this growth, making sure their customers received quality equipment, parts, and service. 1960’s: Kunau Implement saw progress in the advancement of more product lines and in the capabilities of the products themselves. The commitment to quality was strengthened when son, Daniel, officially joined the Kunau Implement team. 1970’s: Kunau Implement marked the decade with the addition of a second son, Richard, to the family business. 1980's: Todd, son of Daniel, was the third generation of the Kunau family to join the team. 1990's: In 1994 a new facility was constructed in DeWitt, Iowa which widened the customer base and increased the variety of available products. 2000's: In August of 2007 and 2008, Kunau Implement received Farm Equipment Magazine's "Best in Class Dealer of the Year" honors. 2010's: With Todd stepping into ownership of the company, Dan and Dick will be able enjoy active semi-retirement years.
